York flood – 12 hours on

September 26, 2012 by talkaboutyork

Well after taking a few snaps yesterday afternoon, I went for a run this morning. Where we were  walking yesterday is now under deep water. These pictures show the difference in water levels between yesterday and today. Apparently the water levels are due to keep rising until midnight tonight. This is a PROPER flood. But there are amazing flood barriers and gates though that seem to hold the worst of it from spreading, and fire crews are very busy pumping water out of certain areas.

  1. Wow that does look seriously bad. I have just seen York mentioned on BBC News as well. Glad to hear your house is on higher ground.

Good to hear you’re ok! My friends B&B is currently being kept dry by sandbags – their whole road is flooded (A19) – and this isn’t even as bad as it has been in the past too!! Eek!
